There are 4 things you need in a VW to make it enjoyable and safe. First is the engine: you want it to run smooth and not leave you stranded. Second is the transmission you need the tranny to shift smoothly and go into gear easily. Third is brakes. You have to be able to stop and not have the car pull to one side of the road. And forth is electrical. You need headlights and brake llights and blinkers. With that being said most vws after 40 to 60 years of being on the road. And 40 to 60 years of people playing with them they need a little attention. Brakes that havent been bleed and adjusted in a while will work alot better and be alot safer by doing this. Shifters that are almost impossible to find the gears could use the bushings replaced. These are cheap quick ways to make your vw enjoyable and safe. Give us a call. We can help.
I had to put my bug in storage for three years and when I took it out Chris made it road worthy by draining the gas tank, tuning it up, and adjusting the brakes. I drove it daily to work for 6 months with only an oil change at 3000 miles. At 6000 miles he tuned it up again, adjusted the brakes, rotated the tires, and installed a new muffler and shifter. The 1776 with dual Kadrons is tuned perfectly and has never run this great. Thanks Mobile Air Cooled
